Psalm 113

Psalm 113 is part of the Egyptian Hallel series (psalms 113-118), typically sung during the Passover Feast to celebrate deliverance from slavery in Egypt. This psalm opens with BY WHOM (servants of the LORD), WHEN (now and forever), and WHERE (east to west or everywhere) the name of the LORD is to be praised. The remaining verses tell us that the reasons WHY are because of who He is and what He does.

Following are some reflections that may be beneficial to consider when meditating on this psalm:
  • Verses 1-3
    • What do these verses teach me about the who, when, and where of praising the name of the LORD?
  • Verses 4-9
    • Why do I praise the LORD?
